Union J: " We've Made A Great Pop Record And We Love It"

Four months on since The X Factor, Union J took to twitter today to confirm that their first ever release 'Carry You' will be released on June 2nd 2013.

Speaking to me ahead of their single announcement, at last week's James Says Jog On to Cancer" benefit for Cancer Research UK in London, the lads confessed that they can't wait for their fans to hear it.

"We're really excited about this, we never thought in a million years that we'd be doing a single..it's a dream come true, Josh added. " If you'd have to said to us seven months ago that we'd be making our first music video and releasing a single to the iTunes chart, we would've bitten your hand off. So we're absolutely over the moon to have this opportunity."

Jaymi added " It's a great pop song and we're excited to be performing it. It's very catchy."

Josh, JJ, Jaymi and George have also confirmed that their first book will hit the shelves later this year. Josh told me "It's hard for people during the X Factor to get to know us individually as there's such a short amount of time so it's nice that we can deliver on how we are individually and as Union J."

Jaymi also confessed to me that the book will discuss his own personal journey; "..it was quite emotional to write to be honest and there were things I'd forgotten to be honest. And talking about my sexuality was a massive thing for me as it, like the first time I'd actually gone into it and thought about it all..so it's amazing. And we've learnt a lot about to each other like stuff about George Josh's footballing past and JJ's jockey history is so interesting.."

And look out for the band's debut music video for the single. " It's cool actually, we've just seen the first edit and we're so hyped! It's not going to be what people are expecting from a boy band off the back of the X Factor. It's completely different, so we just hope the public buy into it."
