that they've all
spent time chatting to Kevin Hughes.
In fact,
when it comes to a list of the
biggest names in music and
showbiz,
there aren't many stars that haven't
spoken to Kevin.

Kevin began
his broadcasting career on student
radio at Canterbury Christ
Church University
whilst
studying in Kent. He Won the
Radio 1 Student
Presenter of the Year Award for
his work on C4
Radio and his prize was a night
co-hosting with Jo
Wiley on Radio 1. On air
Jo admitted she was
more nervous than Kevin and
appealed to any
radio bosses to give him a job." |

BBC Wales did
just that, offering Kevin the chance to
present the
evening show on BBC Radio
Wales. It was there that Kevin first met
and
interviewed a young new talent
called Charlotte Church, a new
band
called the Stereophonics and even
celebrated Tom Jones' Brit
Award
win with an exclusive BBC Wales
interview.
On a weekly basis,
he interviewed upcoming bands like
Coldplay, The
Libertines, Lost Prophets
and Muse who all went on to do okay. Oh
and
he also spoke to a certain Amy Winehouse,
four years before she
became a tabloid favourite. He was
rewarded with a Welsh Music
Award for Best Radio show and even made it to
the pages of
Company
Magazine! |

One
Random Fact; he was
the first Welshman
heard
on Radio 2 in
the Millennium, as reported
from the
1999 Manic Street Preachers New Years
Eve
concert for Ken Bruce! He
also hosted
everything
from the
Top 40 chart as well as
producing documentaries for Radio 1 and
2,
reporting from Glastonbury and offering
showbiz
gossip on Radio 5 Live. |

On TV, Kevin has appeared on BBC Three (Liquid
News and reported from the Eurovision
Song Contest in Istanbul with
Lorraine Kelly),
CBBC and BBC Wales TV and has
offered his opinion
to everyone from the Daily Mirror to

In 2005, Kevin joined GCap Media to
present Music Control, the flagship
evening show across The One
Network. He hosted the show
with Sally Bailey for two years and then
in 2007 became the sole presenter with
the show
broadcasting across 42 stations to over
1.3 million listeners..
He
interviewed over 300 of the
worlds biggest stars including
Kylie,
Will Smith, Take That, Coldplay,
Kanye
West, Justin
Timberlake, P Diddy, Mariah
Carey, Usher and many many more.
The
show also featured live sessions
from
the likes of Amy
Winehouse, The Zutons,
Leona Lewis, Duffy, One Republic as
well as local, unsigned bands as part
of
the GCap Media

Now in 2008, Kevin
continues to host the One Network
Evening Show (re-branded as Kevin
Hughes in the Evening) on
33
GCap stations across the UK. He
was nominated for the 2008 British Radio
Award for Best UK Radio Presenter and
has
hosted countless corporate award
ceremonies, charity balls and
presentations.
